forced vinyl.......??????
But at least, in this case, the vinyl does not result in the price being jacked through the roof. $100 is full retail, so seeing this set at $70-$80 down the road is a reasonable expectation. The Yes Album set got down to a shade over $60. If this set does get to $70, that's not a bad price for 4 CDs plus a Blu-ray.
If this was a Kiss, Rush or Pink Floyd box, they probably would have thrown in a bunch of paper and put a $300 price-tag on it.

So for decades, record labels slapped "remastered" on something in an attempt to get us to buy the same thing over and over again (joke was on us as probably about 80% of the time, the remaster was a downgrade).
Now they slap "Steven Wilson 2024 mix" on Fragile, after they had put "Steven Wilson 2015 mix" on the same album 9 years ago.
Good thing that Steven Wilson knows what he is doing now. Apparently he did not know what he was doing in 2015?
Don't get me started on the Dolby Atmos bullshit.
Like with the super deluxe for The Yes Album, this collection is somewhat lacking if you already have the Panegyric 2015 CD + Blu-ray version already in your collection. But this looks to be a really nice set at a fair price if you do not.
I did not get The Yes Album super deluxe, but will grab it if I ever see a really good price on it. Same thing with this version of Fragile. I'll probably need to see it at $60 or less and be in a buying mood.

I had picked up the Yes Album deluxe about 10 days ago when the it dipped to the low $50s (to my door for $58). I'll bite for this when its down in that range.

yeah I also finally picked up The Yes Album box at a greatly reduced price and maybe this Fragile will follow the same trajectory. Anyway I do need the set eventually as it is my second favorite Yes album (after Close To The Edge).

I wish I would have seen that. Would have picked up a copy at that price.

I've owned all the Yes Panegyric CD/blu-ray sets since they were released and they're all fantastic, but I still bought The Yes Album super deluxe box set the week it was released (for about $68) and I didn't feel ripped off. The packaging and bonus material were really nice, and the Atmos mix...even being down-converted to my 5.1 set-up...is a different experience than the original 5.1 mix. Sure, I would prefer a version without the vinyl in the $40 range, but if they keep releasing super deluxe editions like this for their catalog, I will definitely be buying them.
As much as I love their '70s catalog, I also hope 90125 gets the super deluxe treatment sooner than later. That album in surround sound would be incredible.
