No official announcement from the band or the label (and nothing on Amazon), but there are pre-orders available from several European stores.
I posted under "From the Vaults" because these all appear to be demos/old recordings that were previously posted to Youtube by the band's former sound engineer (since removed), George Geranios. Apparent track list:
01. Late Night Street Fight 02. Cherry 03. So Supernatural (first single - out: February 07, 2024) 04. We Gotta Get Out Of This Place 05. Soul Jive 06. Gun 07. Shot In The Dark 08. The Only Thing 09. Kick Out The Jams 10. Money Machine 11. Don't Come Running To Me 12. If I Fell

Confirmation from Frontiers that these are vault tracks:

After the resounding success of their 50th Anniversary celebration, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is eagerly gearing up for an exciting new chapter in their storied career with the upcoming release of "Ghost Stories." This highly anticipated album marks a fitting finale to the recording legacy of one of Rock’s iconic musical attractions over the past 50 years.
In a thrilling partnership with Frontiers Music Srl, led by pioneering rock aficionado Serafino Perugino, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT is set to captivate fans with a collection of reimagined and completed songs that span from 1978-2016. These musical treasures, long considered the 'lost gems' by Blue Oyster Cult enthusiasts, will include the only known recorded performance of their concert classic “Kick out the Jams” (MC5 cover), making this album a true testament to the band's enduring creativity.
The original lineup members appear on "Ghost Stories," creating a musical journey that traverses decades. Work in the studio on the album was completed by Richie Castellano along with the remaining original members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser. As BLUE ÖYSTER CULT embraces their 'classic rock' phenomenon status, the anticipation for this album is reaching a crescendo. Fans are eager to experience the culmination of the band's artistic vision and witness the completion of songs that have become part of their folklore and the band will also add some of the songs in their up and coming 2024 shows.
With a legacy spanning over five decades, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT continues to be a formidable force in the rock scene. The exciting partnership with Frontiers Music Srl and the visionary leadership of Serafino Perugino add an extra layer of anticipation to the release of "Ghost Stories." As the band bids farewell to their recording career, they do so with a flourish, offering fans a musical odyssey that is sure to leave a lasting imprint on rock history. A remarkable journey in rock history.
And a really annoying trend continues:

I was much more excited before I watched that video. Don't really like the idea of them taking the original multi-track mix, using software to try to separate out all the individual tracks, then messing with them to sound more "modern" and then having to fix all sorts of stuff that the separation software screwed up. Would have rather them just used the original mix and if a guitar solo or something like that was missing...then just record it now and mix it in. As far as making it sound more "modern," IMO there was nothing wrong with recordings in the 70s and 80s so if it was recorded then maybe it should sound like it was recorded then.
Good opportunity for a 2 CD set...disc one where they likely broke everything and then put it back together...disc two with the original George Geranios mixes (untouched and mastered properly).

Well, tangentially related (and the other BOC threads are all locked), Buck Dharma has released a new track "The End of Every Song" complete with video and barebones website (with info on the song).
How is it related? It a bit of a retrospective on his career and life, and the video features old pictures of the band and his life, including lots of folks that are no longer with us. Also related because Albert Bouchard played the drums on the track, along with current BOC bassist Danny Miranda and orchestration by famous soundtrack composer Bear McCreary (Buck played on McCreary's recent release "The Singularity"). The song also features some vocals from Buck's wife Sandy and their (grown) kids.
Buck Dharma wrote:
The song lyric was adapted from a poem "Dregs" by 19th century English poet Earnest Christopher Dowson.
I came by it when I was commissioned to write a song to it by the Spirits Burning Project, who have set many of author Michael Moorcock's books to music.

The debut Blue Oyster Cult album from 1974 remains their best to me. Some magnificent songs on there. This new re-imaged album was disappointing to me.

It was an album of stuff that didn't make the cut to be on an album or cover songs that were rehearsed for a tour. No one should've had any illusions about what it was going to be.

1972, but I agree about this recent album.
As a BOC nut, I was surprised how unappealing it was to me.
It’s obvious why the stuff was in the vaults.
My fave album is Fire Of Unknown Origin or Spectres.
Both are flawless to me.
