My favorite thing they ever did. There's still some murky mystery on the three albums after this, but this EP has a dark, foggy mood despite the upbeat tempo of most of the songs. Love it.

Probably just easier to buy the Dead Letter Office cd or original vinyl EP though.

No mention in any of the promotional material of these songs being remastered, so caveat emptor unless you just can't live without expanded liner notes.

(And technically Chronic Town was previously available as a separate CD via the 3-disc The Originals box set from 1995, but that's a minor quibble.)

No quibbling! They addressed that in the description:

A box set is not a standalone CD. Even if you could just throw out the box. Orphaning those poor CDs.

I still have this on cassette.

It’s good, but very murky sounding.

They would go on to so much more.

I remember seeing the video for “Wolves, Lower” on MTV in 1982 and as a little kid I was intrigued by the odd song title and how nobody else sounded like them.
