Description
Originally released in 1987, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was updated and remixed by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson for The Later Years Box Set. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s original keyboard parts and by re-recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members. The front cover features an alternative photograph from the original album cover photoshoot.

This Deluxe CD/Blu-Ray Box was remixed in 2019 from the original master tapes and includes bonus material and 5.1 Surround Sound Audio, along with a 40-page booklet and envelope containing 6 exclusive stickers designed by Peter Curzon from StormStudios.

Well shit. Apparently Amazon Canada can't ship it to the US. When I try to pre-order I get an error with the following note:

There were four videos from this album shown on MTV and they included…one?

Seeing as there are the three screen films, I would assume they are the same, because those are the three other songs.

I'm pissed because those of us who shelled out the big bucks on TLY.

On the other hand, it gives you all a chance to hear this. For me, the songs that really benefited from the remix are One Slip and On The Turning Away. Rick's keys are prominent on those in a big way. From what I read, they got those parts from a live mix(es) and added them to make the songs sound more Floydish..... and it worked.

Have to assume the current price at Amazon is the full-blown suggested retail price, it's normal for Amazon to initially post new items at the actual suggested retail price. I'd expect this price to come down the closer it gets to the release date. If not, I will end up with the CD only version because $60 is a ridiculous price for a CD/Blu-ray package. $12 is the price of the CD only version...paying an extra $48 for a Blu-ray falls into rip-off territory.

You're obviously forgetting about the added value of 6 exclusive stickers.

So this will be "new" in a manner of speaking to me.

Now, I'm really intrigued.

You'll like it. But keep the original. It's fun to bounce back and forth.
