Just read this online.

Brilliant guitarist.

He’s been through hell and I hope he’s at peace.

One of my all time favorite songs is A Theme From An Imaginary Western.

RIP.

Ken Dashow a NY DJ wrote this a few minutes ago:

Quote:
Leslie West has passed at 75...To his beautiful wife and rock, Jenni, his Brother Larry and all family, friends and fans... He was a Mountain of talent and chutzpah. NO WAY he could Rest In Peace - Hey, les - Jimi is waiting for you - the show is a double act, and your amp is warmed-up and ready!

Saw Leslie West New Years Eve 1975 with Jimmy at the concert pictured above. That night is etched into my subconscious as one of the greatest nights in the history of planet earth. Leslie West was the perfect opener and over all these years I’ve felt really lucky I got to see him back then.

RIP

R.I.P.

This is so sad. I've loved everything he's ever done. He was one of the true greats.

Leslie West (originally Weinstein) went to my alma mater, Forest Hills High School, about 10 years after Simon & Garfunkel and about 4 or 5 years before most of the Ramones. His Vagrants bandmates were from the neighborhood too.

The Vagrants from the 1964 movie Disk-O-Tek Holiday, with a 19 year old Leslie West on guitar.
