The Idiot and Lust For Life are going to be released as separate Deluxe Editions as well, but of course the box set will contain so much more. A press release from the David Bowie camp says this:

The Idiot (deluxe edition) Lust For Life (deluxe edition) and 1977: The Bowie Years (7CD boxset) are due late May from Universal Music. More details to follow nearer the release date.

Okay, the 2CD Deluxe Editions of The Idiot and Lust For Life will be pre-orderable soon at the links in the first post. So, those two titles have now been confirmed, but there are no other details yet.

This "alternative mix" of "China Girl" is the exact same mix that appeared on the 1977 box from Easy Action in 2007. Along with some other "alternate" mixes (including, notoriously, "Tiny Girls" with Ziggy-era studio chat pre-prended to the track!), most of which appear to be recycled here.
I'm guessing this set is just a beat-the-boots compilation, and that little if any of the audio will be upgraded from already-circulating sources.
A real shame, if so. Better copies of the Mantra Studios recordings circulate, for example, than the ultra trebly-sounding version that has appeared on CD in recent years.

will be curious how the pricing works out. May opt for the two individual DEs over the box. Between the two DE's bonus discs, I would likely get enough of the bonus material from the box that would satisfy me.
