[2020-03-20] Graham Gouldman "Modesty Forbids" with guest Ringo Starr (Lojinx UK)

Description
Co-produced by Graham Gouldman and Graeme Pleeth, all of the songs on 'Modesty Forbids' were recorded at The Pleeth Station Studios, except for 'Waited All My Life For You', which was recorded at Astral Drive, London. Additional recording also took place at London's Hoxa HQ to complete the track 'That's Love Right There'. The album was then mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The album's cover artwork was design by StormStudios, with illustrations by Dan Abbott. The album's eclectic mix of song styles includes swing (something Graham's never tried before), the blues and gospel is something he hopes everybody enjoys as much as he did making the album.

Ringo Starr will feature on a song called "Standing Next To Me", about which Gouldman says:

The song is about how I came to be asked to join his band, and about my experience of being on the road with Ringo alongside Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette, who also plays drums on three of the album's tracks.

It's a British import. No domestic release scheduled. Ordering direct from Amazon UK is usually the way to go in such cases.

i was kind of figuring that,
and i know that hoping for a US release of a graham gouldman solo album in 2020 was far-fetched to begin with,

oh well, ordering from amazon UK isn't all that bad, off i go.

That's a good deal. It's "in stock" at Amazon USA only in the sense that a third party seller in the UK is offering it. They might have gotten stock early, or they might be listing it as "in stock" because by the time they ship it out it will be in stock (this coming Friday).

But a good deal regardless.

10cc fans, these gouldman solo albums are quite good, and quite 10cc-ish.
