Excellent, I'm happy to see this. I thought there was a pretty good chance they'd bail on the series after volume one (talking to you Bruce Springsteen and, if you want to go back many years, Motley Crue). The first box was really good outside of the sub-par mastering of Hysteria, hopefully they won't brickwall these remasters.

Looks like 4 studio albums (Adrenalize through Euphoria, including Retro Active) and 3 CDs of b-sides, bonus tracks, live recordings, etc.

When I see a more detailed tracklist I'll have a better sense of what's included and what's missing...

Are these the greatest albums? Definitely not. I'd go as far as saying the much-maligned Slang is my favorite of the bunch. But this was the era of the band that was the richest in terms of b-sides and odds and ends. Considering the deluxe version of Slang had 19 bonus cuts, that could be 1+ discs of extra material right there. Adrenalize spawned a bunch of singles and a whole bunch of B-sides. It will be interesting to see what are on the three bonus CDs, there should be a wealth of stuff for them to choose from.

Slang had two double sets IIRC, one with live tracks and the 19 bonus track version, hopefully they include everything from both sets.

Pretty disappointing that there are only 38 "rarities" here, but no doubt the vinyl pestilence continues, leaving CD buyers with 1/3rd empty discs that probably would have been filled if the artists/labels did not feel the need to match up the track listings. I did check through and the CD and vinyl versions are identical. Vinyl set is 10 LPs. Retroactive and Euphoria have been expanded to double albums. Instead of 3 rarities volumes like in the CD box, the vinyl has the same material spread over four vinyl LPs, so they just split that up into 2 double LP sets and are calling those Rarities Vol 2 and Rarities Vol 3. But again, music content between the CD version and vinyl version are identical.

2 different acoustic version of "Two Steps Behind?" How can anyone resist?

If you put Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 side by side on the spines, you will discover that there will be a Vol. 3.
