*sigh*
I wish I could get excited, but they've made similar statements in the past. Until they actually book the studio time or get together in one place for long enough to actually do some writing and recording, I'm going to be skeptical. Living so far apart and only getting together for the short strings of dates really isn't very conducive to getting new material together.

FYI - Ty posted a couple of days ago that he's still writing and that they're going into the studio next week.
Based on what he said in the "Oral History" book about the XV sessions, I'm hoping this goes better and they're all enthusiastic. We're lucky that this album is happening.

So apparently Ty has broken the Strat Elite and his Lab Series 5 amp back out for the new record. Hopefully the tones on this one are going to be huge.
(He's also posted pics showing a banjo, and a Les Paul)

Per the Golden Robot website, it looks like it'll be a Feb/March of 2020 release.
Quote:
While it’s been a decade since KING’S X have released a new record, the wait has definitely been worth it! The band has been busy at Blacksound Studios in Pasedena California with world renowned producer Michael Parnin. The results coming out of the studio have been mind blowing. We anticipate a release Februray/March 2020 on Golden Robot Records. We believe this will be their best album to date.
