How well known was he in the States? I mean, good Montreal kid in the 80s, so he's kind of iconic up here, but I'm never sure how much penetration Canadian artists get in the states.

huge around powerful people up to brother to brother and then kind of fell by the wayside.

very hard to find his later albums anywhere in the US.

this new one kind of just slipped by the radar, i found it by accident, had no idea it was there.

2 big hits as far as I'm aware of. None in almost 40 years, however.

Apparently he’s the man!

The only ones I know are “I just wanna stop” and “living inside myself”. I like both songs by the way.

my my my

get on spotify and listen to 'powerful people' as soon as you can. then 'gist of the gemini' (war suite is remarkable) 'later 'big dreamers never sleep' is also quite excellent.

there are some albums that are no easy to come by also (good thing and live in montreal)).

well, after hearing 30 second samples of each song, I can say this sounds nothing like the Gino Vannelli from the 70's/80's. Not bad, just not anything like I had expected.

Literally the only song of his I remember is Wild Horses. He's got an amazing voice, though.
