There are several things I am very interested in. The catch is - as of now, I'll be out of town because that's Frozen Four weekend. On the plus side, I found three stores in Buffalo that are participating.

The replica "test pressing" of Dylan's "Blood On The Tracks" looks to be a pretty cool item.

The vinyl of The Guitar World Of Frank Zappa is probably the biggie for me. I have the original cassette, and as far as I recall, that's the only official issue.

Not too much for me this time:

CD:
Grateful Dead- The Warfield, San Francisco, CA 10/9/80 & 10/10/80

LP:
Pink Floyd- A Saucerful of Secrets (mono)
Captain Beefheart- Trout Mask Replica
Frank Zappa- The Guitar World of Frank Zappa

If they released it on CD or LP, I would pick up "The Versace Experience: Prelude 2 Gold" by Prince, but I'm not going for a cassette.

When I first saw those listings, I figured it had to be a typo. Playing them on a regular turntable wouldn't work- it would play havoc with the tracking angle. Inner groove distortion would be a problem. But apparently they are real, and are played on miniature record players!

Click for full size

I learned something new today.
(I see they are made by Crosley, so the sound is probably not great!)

I know this is wishful thinking, but I'm really hoping The B-52s Mesopotamia is the long-elusive UK edition
(I know this won't happen...just dreaming)

The 3" vinyl started in Japan as a children's toy. "Mini-players" were produced and the records had theme music for children's shows.

Here is a temporary ebay link for one of the players:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bandai-8-Ban-3 ... ctupt=true

And an example of some of the records:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-disc-for-Ban ... ctupt=true

Just internet search "Bandai 8-Ban" and you'll find a whole bunch of stuff about it. I don't think it is a viable format in Japan anymore.

This is all that Rhino has revealed about it so far:

Quote:
The B-52’s – Mesopotamia – 12-inch EP single on blue vinyl – Limited edition of 3,000 copies

The 2-LP Elvis Presley "Live At The International Hotel" set is significant as it reportedly includes the entire August 23, 1969 dinner show, which is--hold onto your hats--previously unreleased. As in literally not a single second of this particular show has NEVER BEEN RELEASED IN ANY FORM, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Not on an import, not on an FTD title--never, nowhere, not at all.

Twelve concerts were recorded to multitrack tape over the course of a week from this, Presley's first (and best) post-army Vegas stand, and this was the only show out of those twelve to remain entirely in the vault.

The LP set reportedly contains a download code.

Finally, all of this 1969 live/multitrack material seems destined for release later this year as a boxed set.

Elvis is dead, people. This may be the last time it will be possible to tout the release of a truly previously unreleased (and unbootlegged) Presley concert from multitrack tapes.

I just noticed a title I overlooked first time through. I would also like:

Roxy Music- Remixed

This is listed under the RSD First category, so there will be a general release coming at some point.

Anyone excited for RSD this Saturday? Seems to be a lack of buzz for this one.

This year will definitely be a let down after last year when we were in Athens GA for RSD!

I believe this year to be one of the betters of the most recent. Starting my schedule of store visits. there are so many indies to chose from, need to road map it to shop in proper logistic sequence.

There are actually several releases I would purchase if only they were available simultaneously on CD... oh well. :sigh:
