This could be really good. My only concern is Maria's voice seems to have slowly gone downhill for at least 20 years. If she can somehow compensate for the condition of her voice, this would be fun. Her voice was awesome in the early-mid 70's (sadly, that was a long time ago). I personally resemble that statement also, & my singing voice wasn't even 20% as good as her's!

I'm so excited to finally be able to announce the release of my brand new album, DON'T YOU FEEL MY LEG ~ The Naughty Bawdy Blues of Blue Lu Barker! Recorded this summer in New Orleans, it will be released on a wonderful record label, The Last Music Company, Sept. 28th. This fall my band & I will be touring across the US and we can't wait to share this delightful material with friends & fans everywhere! Read all about the album below and make sure you come out to one of our shows. You'll be happy you did!
Maria and The Last Music Company are pleased to announce the release of "DON'T YOU FEEL MY LEG ~ The Naughty Bawdy Blues of Blue Lu Barker" on September 28th!
This will mark Maria's 41st album in a distinguished career that has established her as a preeminent and revered interpreter of American roots music, and it is her first studio album in six years.
For this stunning set, Maria pays tribute to the wonderful Blue Lu Barker, the popular vocalist and songwriter of the late 30s and early 40s whom Billie Holiday once cited as her biggest influence.
Barker's "Don't You Feel My Leg" that made it onto Maria's 1973 self-titled solo debut album at the suggestion of Dr. John. The album went on to spawn a million-seller hit with "Midnight at The Oasis," & yet to this day, "Leg" remains her most requested song.
Maria and Blue Lu would later form a friendship that lasted until Blue Lu's death in 1998. In 2016, Maria was invited to perform a tribute to her old friend in New Orleans. While researching material for the tribute, to Maria's surprise & delight, she discovered that the Barkers had written & recorded dozens of songs equally naughty, bawdy, witty, & clever as "Don't You Feel My Leg."
"I put together a wonderful "all star" band of stellar New Orleans players, & we had a blast performing this fun material to a sold-out audience! The response was overwhelming, & after the show people swarmed up to the merchandise table all clamoring to buy a CD of the sassy, naughty, bawdy material they had just heard," says Maria. "At that moment we all realized that this delightful collection of songs needed to be recorded & shared with the world!"
Recorded in New Orleans with an amazing cast of A-List NOLA musicians, "DON'T YOU FEEL MY LEG" finds Maria at her finest, and is true to the spirit and soul of New Orleans and Barker's risqué, witty material. Maria rightly says that we could all use "a good dose of HAPPY right about now." The album is officially released September 28th. Pre-order now ~ You'll be HAPPY you did.

Nice, but the original is better.
Google is actually causing more issues with XP then Microsoft these days. Pale Moon is useless for anything Google related (a real pain with the ubiquitous Recaptcha), & to watch this I had to open Firefox, then go to the You Tube site (it wouldn't load on Ice at all for me). Really good quality compared to what I've seen on the past on You Tube once I got it to play, though.
