1977 was an amazing year for the celebrated and legendary guitarist /vocalist George Benson. Having a blockbuster crossover jazz/soul/pop smash with the multiple Grammy Award winning "Breezin’ " a year before, all eyes and ears were on the next move this multi- talented genius had in store. The album was aptly titled "In Flight."

"In Flight" successfully consisted of six soulful and jazzy workouts with an array of funk that just blew the house down. Check out his amazing delivery and interpretation on the Nat King Cole classic "Nature Boy" which opens this masterwork. His vocal prowess and intricate guitar tones are second to none.

He continues the soulful trek with the much sampled and much revered War classic "The World Is A Ghetto." Plus a visit to his friend the late Donnie Hathaway is showcased with the wonderful instrumental "Valdez In The Country." The amazing album went on to top the charts all over again, and truly validated his artistry even further for George Benson, as he has gone on to become one of the greatest musicians of all time.

Out of print for some time on c.d, this exclusive compact disc edition is impeccably mastered from the Warner Bros. tapes by Joe Reagoso (Al Jarreau, Michael McDonald, Billy Joel) and includes liner notes/ interview from George Benson himself!

We also went back to the Warner Music vaults and found the original 12” Disco Mix of "The World Is A Ghetto" and the beautiful 45 RPM mix of "Everything Must Change." Both of these tracks truly makes this a stellar revisit for all the George Benson and music enthusiasts everywhere.
