for those of you who really want some good rock and roll music how it used to be made, i highly recommend michael stanley.....there is something to be said for his entire (and quite extensive) catalog.

think springsteen, mellencamp, seger and the like.....i've no idea why he never "made it".....once you hear him you will know what i mean.

I bought the CD that Michael Stanley released in 2016 ("In a Very Short Time") and it's excellent from start to finish!

I have listened to this now about 4 times and can't say which songs are best because they are all great. Superb song writing and a solid recording. The last track is a bit odd (Funky Drummer #2) at just under 1 minute 35 seconds. Based on what I have seen on his website over the last few years, he almost never tours outside the Ohio area. That might explain his music being somewhat of a hidden gem.

for years and years michael stanley held the attendance record at blossom music center (a pretty big shed) and for all i know he still does.

he works at a local TV station now, and does concerts with his band, the resonators, around northeast ohio on a regular basis.

i went to college with his sister, but that was before he really got big even in ohio. and i once sat behind him at an indians game and we chatted the whole time. a very down to earth and very nice man.

i am very serious about his entire catalog, not a dud in the bunch, and there are proabably over 25 of them.
