I need to listen to these guys one of these days. "Little Willie" was all over Seattle radio & I truly HATE that song, so I never gave them a chance. I've read that others here like them, & I'm of course into early 70's glam.

The first time I heard 'Little Willy' on AM radio I thought it was a Marc Bolan T.Rex track.

Sweet have some bubblegum songs in line with Little Willy. If you want to hear something that rocks harder, the US version of Desolation Blvd and especially Give Us a Wink shows what they are capable of. These Polydor albums are neither, as they are more melodic (although I've never heard Identity Crisis)

Dean is right on his assessment. The Sweet released some absolutely hard rock killer albums. One that always stands out for me is 'Give Us A Wink'.

If “Little Willie” would have been the first Sweet song I had heard, I would have never got into them. Fortunately, it was “Ballroom Blitz” which sent me looking for the US edition of Desolation Boulevard... which you can reconstruct with the superior Sony remasters Sweet Fanny Adams and Desolation Boulevard (original version). Both loaded with bonus tracks.

Also, the 2 CD collection Action: The Sweet Anthology is a decent sampling of their first decade, covering the pop, glam, rock and bubblegum of their catalog, and includes the album version of Love is Like Oxygen. But nothing matches the expanded Sony remasters, which are being repacked in the Sensational Sweet box set (which I’m still waiting on).
