Was the Batman '66: The Lost Episode comic included in one of the Batman '66 trade paperbacks that are out now?

It's in Volume #4, Chris.

Thanks! For some reason, I thought it had been published as a standalone TPB.

And of course it would have included a foreword by Harlan Ellison ranting and raving about how they buried his script and how it would have revolutionized the show.

No need for a TPB. It was an expensive issue all by itself when it was released,
at nearly $10 I recall. I don't remember if it had a thicker cover stock or not. I
almost didn't buy it because the price was so painful. But I did like the Batman '66
comic, so I eventually did buy it. I also picked up the first five volumes of the
collections in hardback (only slightly more expensive than the trades).

As much as I hate trades, though, hardbacks on thin books like these tend to warp
over time if you're not nice to them. They should have included more issues per
volume. Alas.

Is the William Shatner animated movie adapted from that episode?

In a parallel world, Shatner was Batman and West was Captain Kirk.

That's my belief, anyway.

I think I read over the years that he was offered the James Bond role but turned it down
thinking it should be given instead to a Brit.

Page 4 of the Adam West Thread has some interesting posts on this matter, even if a few pix are missing.

Isn't that from FRINGE?

I've no idea. I don't know what Fringe is. It just seems like something that could've happened but didn't.

In another parallel world, West was James Bond (as Hugh said) and also did commercials for Xerox Copiers, and Orson Welles was the host of In Search Of. :)

Also, Ron Ely could've portrayed the parallel world Superman (in the mid-to-late 70's) opposite Ricardo Montalbán as Lex Luthor (with Cybill Shepherd as Lois). :)

Leonard Nimoy would've portrayed both Colonel Sanders and Ronald McDonald on one of these parallel worlds.

I've no idea who'd have played Captain Cathode but I'm sure the character exists on at least one other parallel world.

I've no idea. I don't know what Fringe is.

Fringe was a Fox science fiction series that occasionally dealt with alternate realities.

I am almost positive there is an episode set in an alternate reality with Shatner as Batman and West as Kirk.

Also, the lead actress on that show was Australian ...

If I had been Adam West and offered Bond, I would have hired a dialect coach and at least given it a try.

I don't know if Adam West would have worked as James Bond, but it would have been interesting to see him try.

On the other hand, I'm one of those who liked Lazenby and felt it was too bad he quit after one outing.

As was one of the lead actors (John Noble).

Anna Torv is Rupert Murdoch's niece, by the way.
