Which artists have the most box sets, counting Besr Family boxes?
Elvis?
Johnny Cash?

I think Bill Monroe has 6 boxes from Bear Family. I think Tex Ritter has 7.
I know both Elvis and Cash have more than that.

according to wikipedia ( i know) the doors have had 8 box sets, albeit one of those was vinyl only. but i think, and i may be wrong, that one of those has been re-issued for a second time, making the total 9

hendrix is very complicated, some things listed as box sets were only 2 discs........anyone know for sure?

I"m not a fan of The Grateful Dead but I've always maintained that they treat their fans better than anyone out there.

Genesis:
2 SACD Boxes (UK)
Archives
Archives 2
1972-1982
Live 1973-2007
1983-1988
1970-1975
R-Kive
The Movie Box 1981-2007

Those 10 (all official releases) were found with little searching. Their may be more.

The Who may not have all that many. I own 2: My Gen & Tommy; + I know of Maximum for certain. Page 1 of Amazon search results shows a fairly recent LP only box & a Quadraphenia box; which makes at least 5.

you have confused me!

i don't consider something a box set until it has at least 4 discs, are all those genesis sets that big?

I own virtually everything Jimi Hendrix has available on CD.
I have 7 box sets of Jimi Hendrix
Purple Box
Stages
West Coast Seattle Boy
Winterland
Winterland Ryco box set with bonus disc
Lifelines
Polydor box set from 1988 - Included Are You Experienced, Loose Ends, Band Of Gypsies & the original In The West

There are many multiple CD sets but I can't really consider them as a box set.

The Who have:

- Maximum R & B
- The studio album box (vinyl)
- Live At Leeds
- My Generation
- Quadrophenia
- Tommy
- The upcoming singles set
- Four boxes of vinyl singles (listing, but I'm not sure they should count)
- Who's Last was put out in a box format, although it was only two CDs.

Off the top of my head.

The first two discs are the same as the deluxe edition, the third and fourth discs are the "Live at Hull" concert. Also includes a replica of the original "Live at Leeds" LP and a "Summertime Blues"/ "Heaven and Hell" 45.

I have eleven different Elvis boxed sets (one 3-disc set, six-4 disc sets and four-5 disc sets) and I would wager there have been at least eleven others released over the years..
