Interesting article in today's Wall St Journal (April 20, 2007) about the constant re-issue of some re-issues(Elvis Costello), it hits upon Nick Lowe owns all his masters and has been waiting for all worldwide licenses to expire before he re-issues his out -of-print albums either the end of this year of the beginning of 2008. So hold on...

Ooh boy...should I dump my old CDs on eBay? What if it turns out to be a download-only deal?

Jimbo:
Don't unload those just yet. As you pointed out, they may turn out to be download-only, or (just as bad) SACD-only.

However, if these turn out to be good old basic CD releases, I'll definitely be on-board. It's taken WAY TOO LONG for these albums to resurface!

When was the last time there was an SACD that wasn't a hybrid? We should be so lucky that he gives us a hirez option.

I've seen all three Labour Of Lust, Jesus of Cool, and Pure Pop For Now People actually selling for "silly money" on Ebay ($40-$55)...and my efforts to track down a copy have been fruitless. Amazon has a used copy of "LOL" for $85.95....
