I don't remember Firefall doing a Christmas song. Anybody know if it was a one-off single, or if it's from an album?

45cat says it was released in 1982, as a flexi disc, and as 2 different promo 45s. Here's one of them:

the one new song from 'greatest hits "run run away" is not on this (completists beware) also on greatest hits but not on this: 'mexico" and "someday soon'

and there is nothing from their last album 'messenger'. or their live album 'colorado" (which contained 2 new live songs, "lips" and "colorado")

so, completists, other than the christmas tune, if you have their catalog, you have all of this release.

if you don't have any firefall (a very good band IMHO) this is a nice way to hear them....and if you like them, warning: some of their stuff is quite hard to get and a bit expensive.

and also know that most of their albums were reissued with bonus tracks.

Not familiar. But i noticed their first three releases bundled over 2 discs for 13.99. They seem to be most highly regarded via all music. Would that be a better rep of their strengths?

Thanks guys. The Christmas single puts this in must-buy territory for me. As if I needed another reason.

the first 3 were definitely the big sellers. rick roberts ( burrito brothers) is on those and they had 2 lead guitarists. then roberts left and it became jock bartley's band. both of them have virtually disappeared.

'luna sea' and 'elan', a i stated earlier were re-issued with bonus tracks, the first, s/t. was not. very 'eagles-esque' musically and vocally, with a little rougher edge.

tough call on what to buy, but for $14 for the first 3 it might be worth a shot (check if the bonus songs are on there). stills shows up on 'break of dawn".

the later ones are the tough ones to find, coincidentally, those were the ones that did not sell nearly as well.

I've seen the current version of the band live a few times recently, and they always play "Mexico". Should have been included on here.

I guess I'm in the minority, but imo the self titled debut is the Greatest Hits, & is all the Firefall i need. It's a great album; I've always felt they had a huge drop off after that.

beg to differ a little bit, after the first 3 is was a quick slippery slope to oblivion.
