NASHVILLE — Country music legend Loretta Lynn suffered a stroke at her Tennessee home Thursday night and was hospitalized, according to a post on her official website.

Maria Malta, a publicist for Lynn, confirmed Friday that the 85-year-old singer and songwriter was admitted into a Nashville hospital after suffering the stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills.

According to the Friday afternoon post, Lynn is “currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery.”

Upcoming events on her tour schedule will be postponed; more information on those dates will be posted on Lynn’s website (LorettaLynn.com) in the coming days.

I just saw her live for the first time 2 weeks ago and enjoyed her. She sang great, was funny/joking between songs, and had the stamina for her age to be on stage for over 90 minutes (though she let others in her band sing every 5-6 songs.

Yes.....hoping for a full and speedy recovery.....and more music.

Full recovery? That's excellent news! She's had so many health problems over the years that it's hardly surprising to hear about things like this, and yet she keeps going like the trooper she is.

Yes, my prayers are with her. What a great, great artist. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Her album, the Jack White "Van Lear Rose" in 2005 was in my Top 10 list that year.

Loretta Lynn Moved to Rehab Facility Following Stroke

Loretta Lynn has entered rehabilitation to continue her recovery from a recent stroke, according to an update from the singer's team via Twitter. The 85-year-old performer was originally hospitalized in Nashville on May 5th.

"Loretta thanks everyone for their prayers, love and support," reads a tweet from the singer's official account. "She has moved to rehabilitation and we're happy to report she is doing great!"

Updates on Lynn's progress have been scarce since the original health episode, which forced the singer to cancel her upcoming tour dates. Lynn's sister Crystal Gayle did offer an optimistic account of progress on May 10th, thanking fans for their support.

"We are lucky, in this day and age, to have wonderful doctors and nurses taking great care of her," she wrote. "Plus, they have to put up with our dramatic and crazy family and friends."

According to Lynn's official website, she is expected to make a full recovery and resume her touring schedule.

In April, she announced plans for her new full-length album Wouldn't It Be Great, which was co-produced – like Lynn's 2016 album Full Circle – by John Carter Cash and Lynn's daughter Patsy Lynn Russell. Lynn also played a pair of celebrated birthday shows at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium in April.
