Blessed Blues is the follow up album to his debut TON TON MACOUTE, released over 25 years later in 1996 after Capricorn Records founder Phil Walden persuaded Jenkins to record this "comeback" album backed by a stellar cast of musicians including CHUCK LEAVELL on keyboards (now playing with THE ROLLING STONES) and the MUSCLE SHOALS percussionist MICKEY BUCKINS. Jenkins was born in Macon, Georgia 1939 and was first heard on the radio by Phil Walden in 1959 who began booking his band THE PINETOPPERS which included the late great OTIS REDDING on vocals.
