It might be playing in NYC but out here in the suburbs, last I checked, no.

Neither of them are any good, but "Tusk" is particularly bad.

Hmm... I had thought about seeing both...

Now I'm hesitant.

Well, do qualify that statement... I "enjoyed" (read: was disturbed by) both.

It depends what you are looking for.

"Tusk" is pretty good for about 30-45 minutes, then it takes a seriously stupid turn which pretty much ruins the movie.

"The Lobster" is very strange, but it felt to me that it was trying too hard to be strange.

Just never loved the Underworld series, it's ok but not a series I felt I needed to see at the movies. But it's always nice to see Kate Beckinsdale (who looks like she may have been a Spice Girl) wear black leather.

It's such a great concept: Modern day secret underground societies of vampires and werewolves constantly at war with each other. They've just never been able to make a movie that lives up to that concept.

It lacks a heroic story. It needs a stronger human faction, fighting the vampires and werewolves. They are pretty goth and gloomy, and the main characters are murderous.

I could be wrong -- it seems like these keep coming out and I've lost track of them.

Before the first Underworld movie, I wrote a spec script about the same concept. It turned out, in the end, that humanity was the *real* monster.

It also turned out, in the end, that I'm kind of a hack.

On th other hand, that would've been one of the better movies of 2016.

It already is. Despite being a one paragraph synopsis in a message board. It's a better movie than Suicide Squad.

I have seen the first two and remember thinking the second one was awesome just for fights and special effects. It was kinda like Expendables 2 -- not really a good movie but totally entertaining if you turn off your brain.

Looking at the plot of the first one on Wikipedia, the premise sounds solid but I remember it being a little dull.

The main plot revolves around Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a vampire who hunts werewolves. She finds herself attracted to a human who is being targeted by the werewolves and after he is bitten by a werewolf, she must decide whether to do her duty and kill him or go against her clan and save him.

Here's the trailer for the first one... and hey, it's got the movie narrator guy! I haven't heard him in a real trailer in what feels like forever.

Looks to be some of a hybrid knock off of Blade and the Matrix.
