I thought there was something like this... anyway, here's where we can show the love to Mazinger, Ultraman, Astroboy, Gigantor, Kamen Rider, Giant Robo, Power Rangers, whatever.

I just saw these on the AmazWAN and thought they looked awesome. (Insanely expensive though.)

I used to have this one when I was a kid, along with a bunch of the Ultraman related stuff. Living in Hawaii in the mid-70s there was a lot of the Japanese superhero stuff on TV like Kamenrider.

Yeah, I saw all that stuff in Korea in the 80s but since I don't speak or read the language, most of it was very mysterious to me and could be no more than eye candy at the time.

I would have watched that stuff in Korean, I didn't need to understand anything to dig it.

Yeah, I didn't understand it either. It all played on the local Japanese language station (lots of Nisei in Hawaii).

Didn't matter, we loved it all.

I had that guy when I was a kid. He fired missiles from one of his hands and had two swords. The ornament on top of his helmet was also a removable space ship. Shogun Warriors? Is that what they call(ed) them? AFAIK there was no cartoon or comic, at least American, so I had no idea what to do with that thing. He became the ultimate hero though, in all play.

I had this one when I was a kid. An obvious Shogun Warrior clone.

Did you ever see the Giant Robo anime they did based on that? It's supposed to be pretty good.

No, but I bet it is. It was a good premise.
