[2015-09-25] New Order "Music Complete" (Mute)

Description
Long awaited album Music Complete is New Order's first full studio release since 2005's Waiting For The Siren's Call, and their debut for Mute. The album finds the group revitalised, and where they had previously pushed toward electronics or guitars, here the two are in balance. Music Complete also marks a return to the studio for Gillian Gilbert, this is her first album with New Order since 2001's Get Ready.

You can find clips of some of these mixes online. The Hot Chip remix is more than 11 minutes long. In fact, if the amazon.co.uk listing is to be believed, this 6-song CD clocks in at 50 minutes!!!!

Saw the band back in the early 90s n NJ with a bill including Blondie and PiL. Thought they were great live. New Order plays Radio City Music Hall on March 10th. Do they have fans left? They are sort of in Kraftwerk territory now.

Though we like the whole album, the biggie in our house is "Superheated".

We're hoping Brandon Flowers is in town when they play Vegas and they might get the idea to do it live.

Still prefer Technique to this one, that is a solid album, but the new one is a grower and Superheated is very good.

Played this last night after the new "Field Music". Personally, I was surprised how much I liked the new New Order album after with all the changes within the band.

Outside of the classic (Substance) era, my two favorite albums are Technique and Republic. Never really liked the later ones till this new one. Unfortunately during this current tour in Europe, they haven't played any songs from those two albums.

Maybe that changes in the US since they charted very well.

My fave New Order albums are from Republic through Waiting for the Siren's Call.

And "Crystal" and "Regret" my two fave songs.
