I just realized, when I draw sketches and portraits at cons and festivals, I draw the bat without the circle. When I draw Batman for my own enjoyment, he has the circle.

Hey! I just put that B & B comic above on my nightstand last night to read next along with a couple of other B & B's.

I miss the simpler 70's/early 80's Batman that had the yellow, but I prefer the character without it.

Plain, though there's something to be said for the other one.

The real debate should be between Rainbow Batman and Zebra Batman.

For me, the original logo looks like a generic bat silhouette while the "new look" logo looks like an actual logo. I really like the way it pops off of the various Batman costumes.

Without the yellow oval there's really no justification for the yellow utility belt.

Yellow boots and gloves might work...

I liked the gold one they used to promote Batman '89. But then the logo he actually wore in that movie was kind of stupid looking.

On the animated series, I prefer the plain black, I think because it fits with the streamlined, stripped-down aesthetic of that show.

I think that's right. Color balance makes a huge difference and it would be off without both.

Romita, Jr's first redesign on the right brought back the yellow belt buckle and it and also some yellow piping on his boots in an image in the "special features" in the back of the graphic novel and it went a long way in improving by balancing the yellow of the chest logo. The first New 52 on the left is just does not work visually without it. But for some reason they dropped the yellow by the time it came to print.

I dig the yellow background logo.

I vote for the yellow bat on the black shirt.

I feel they should create an entirely new design, combining new and classic elements. Thanks.

The silhouette of the Batman from the upcoming B vs. S movie is exactly what I like, minus the textured material in the gray. I prefer the bulky physique and shorter Bat-Ears. I wish the material of the suit was more cloth-y, but at least its not armor, which, other than the Bat-Voice, is the thing that I have hated most about the character from the previous movies. I get the sense that this upcoming movie Batman is going to be more street level and less gimmicky - until he kicks Superman's ass.

Really? I think that if anything, Batman will get more sci-fi in his weapons and technology if he's going up against Superman and has to be a worthwhile member of the JLA.

I'm still a fan of the leathery texture of the original Burton Batman. I like the long Neal Adams ears, personally.
