for a couple of years collins was THE hot commodity...ala sheryl crow, dave grohl, etc.
he had a ton of one-offs and such, although i doubt many of those will show up on these reissues, they rarely ever do.
i know the current trend is the release of live shows from back in the day, and i understand the monetary rewards that they bring even if i don't agree with how much of it is going on. what i would really love to see is a trend of releasing all of the one-offs by a given artist on one album. i realize the contractual hurdles that would have to be jumped, but i truly believe that these would sell like hotcakes.
i also know that the used market would get flooded with compilation CD's that these artists appear on. i know i have bought quite a few comp CD's for a song or two only.
some artists would probably have to have more than one disc, there is so much out there (jackson browne, lucinda williams, for sure)

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Phil Collins teamed up with engineer Allen Sides and producer Rob Cavallo for his latest album, Testify. Much of the new record was cut at Record One Recording Studios (Los Angeles). Sides also remixed several classic Collins albums for possible 5.1 releases. - See more at: http://www.mixonline.com/news/profiles/ ... ews/365162

Brooklyn OWNS this charmer!
Crappy bonus tracks, and Nick Davis is on board for mastering. Pass and PASS! And I was looking forward to these...

This is what I hate to see... prejudging before hearing. In this case, I think you should listen to Bank's new collection before going off on Davis. His remix/mastering on that is stellar.... wayyyyyy better than what he did with the Genesis remasters.

These are getting slammed pretty good by fans, though everyone seems to like the covers.
When the artist is hands-on it usually adds up to poor product.
Very disappointing but at a cheap price, I might bite.
Yeah.... I may grab Face Value for the second disc. I have the AC gold discs of his first 4 and they're damn good. I'm really irritated at bringing out Both Sides right away instead of Hello, I Must Be Going. With that release, I hope he puts the live show on disc 2 that he did on that tour, one that made it to *cough* VHS.

I think I must be deaf because I liked the Genesis remixes.
