Been living in Florida for over 35 years and I have never saw so much continuous rains (and now flooding).

I have seen many hurricanes produce less rain by inch. The flooding is incredible. (at least my lab is loving it, he's part duck anyway & I can prove it, he has web feet).

Glad I bought my beer, cheese and Zep reissues last night. :ohyes:

I'll tell ya, I can't believe my good ole Camry pulled thru today. Had to get my computer out of the shop and therefore caught in the flood.

I love my old girl. She brought papa home safe (and dry).

Nice wax job coming up for her, she deserves it!

There you go! And it's still raining at 10:45pm est. Send this to California, they need it more than anyone.

Wow.
I lived in the area for almost 20 years, and I can only remember it flooding like that once. I did get stuck, but 1 hour later the sun was out and I was able to drive away.

Good luck you guys.

Funny--I was asking my wife that question just the other day--is there a tropical storm hovering over the Gulf that I should know about? I've lived in Florida for 25+ years, and am used to summer weather to where if I actually notice it, chances are that conditions must be fairly extreme.

This seemingly perpetual rain reminds me of 2004, particularly a couple of days that I spent stuck in a swaying third-floor apartment as Hurricane Jeanne (I think it was Jeanne, anyway--there were three that hit Orlando that summer) seemed to come to a complete stop above the state of Florida. (Charley, in contrast, passed over me completely in less than an hour.)

Back in September of last year, one of our cats died, and we buried him out in front of the house. As he had a tendency to urinate both frequently and wherever he damn well pleased, I've been inclined to attribute all storms and excess rain to him.

I grew up in Tampa and lived there until late 2009. At one time I worked about a block from where the picture above was taken. That area always floods but this looks worse than usual. You guys be careful out there.

It's still raining as I post this. Need to build an ark.

It's always important to keep your flotation devices near to hand.
