RIP - another great voice from my youth.

Sad news. "Rose Garden" was one of my 45s.

RIP.

I did not know she had been a regular on the Lawrence Welk show prior to, most interesting.

I recently heard the story about Rose Garden, hope I get it right here. Lynn found the song (written by Joe South), wanted to record it, her producer and label said no, it's a song for a man to sing to a woman, not vice versa. Sometime later after a studio recording date, they had finished their quota of songs early and had some extra time left. So they went for it and did Rose Garden as an afterthought. And the rest is history...
