Pre-order links are not active yet, but should be soon. Here is some preliminary information from Mr. Wilson:

Universal Music Group have announced a 14 disc Steve Hackett box set for October release called Premonitions, that will cover his time with Charisma Records between 1975-83, including the first 4 albums in newly created 5.1 surround sound versions.
Unfortunately I was only able to remix 2 of these into discrete surround since the multitrack tapes for the other 2 albums could not be located, so instead I created surround sound upmixes from the stereo masters using Penteo Surround software (which nevertheless came out sounding very immersive and worthwhile). All of the remixing was supervised and approved by Steve. More news and confirmation of contents soon I hope.

I second John's "Wow!" This should be pretty spectacular. Even though I already own most of these albums, I'm guessing this will be the best they've ever sounded.

Genesis-news.com appears to know the full track listing. Quite a few live tracks from Oxford, Reading, Drury Lane as well as the BBC sessions. A little too much for me though

Breaking up studio albums across 2 CDs? And stuffing bonus tracks in between to boot? I'm surprised Steve Wilson would have anything to do with something like that.

The albums mixed into surround are on their own individual DVDs, so there is a purity in that part of the package. Maybe Universal didn't want more than X number of total discs in the box?

Your comment implies that Steven Wilson has control over the content of the box. Truth is, he doesn't. The only control he has is to choose which albums he wants to remix by which artists and how he goes about doing it.
He usually has no control over the content of these reissues and when they are released. Now sure he can make suggestions about release formats and configurations and even mix extra or alternate tracks for inclusion, but in the end, the release format and content decisions are left up to the record company (and sometimes the artist)

I'm buying this for the DVD surround mixes and the live material so the first few CDs that include all the early material doesn't bother me (but it would be ideal to have everything separated).

Bump: Updated the image in the first post to the full packshot. It's a beautiful set.
The British listing is currently dormant -- it should be back soon, once Universal sorts out their pre-order problems -- but the American pre-order link in the first post is now active.

Yes, the UK Amazon site says it's "currently unavailable" and has no price listed. They are almost always cheaper than the US price, so we'll wait and see. It is about three months off, after all...
