`From The Vault` is a series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. `Hyde Park 1969` is the latest addition to the series.

It was one of the most highly anticipated gigs of 1969 and it delivered on all the promise and then some. On July 5, 1969, the Rolling Stones hosted their iconic free concert in London`s Hyde Park.

Having taken two years off from the road, the show was conceived as the beginning of the band`s big return to the live stage. It was also planned as an introduction of their hot new guitar player, Mick Taylor. The former disciple of British blues legend John Mayall had been inducted into the Stones just a month prior.

Over 400,000 delirious fans of all ages gathered into the park for the concert. The Stones` concert in London`s Hyde Park would pay homage to the late Brian Jones and usher in the new and extraordinary era of Mick Taylor (1969-74).

This Stones concert is getting a separate release now. The cover images currently showing at Amazon will be updated, as will the content details. But if you passed on 2013's Sweet Summer Sun release because you only wanted the vintage 1969 performance, now you can get it as a standalone.

1969? I'm In when the price drops, especially if the audio is 24 bit.

Is there any talk of an audio release?

Right now they're being solicited as one disc each, just the video. Eagle has added CDs closer to the release date before (most recently for this other vintage Stones concert), so WAN can hope.

Thanks Linda. Hopefully this one will be released as a CD too. In the past I've just bought the DVDs and ripped the audio, but I'm having trouble finding software for my mac that will rip copy protected DVDs. I'm still trying to figure out how to rip the DVD of the LA 75 release.

Btw there is a DTS HD MA 5.1 soundtrack on this disc[it's probably in 24 bit audio not that'd make that much of a difference with the audio being what it is].

Picked up and watched a couple of days ago. "From The Vault" releases should not be judged on the basis of this one. From an historical standpoint, I'm glad I got it. The sound is nice. Cinematography is dated.

Sound is all I really care about with this series. If it's 96/24 for certain, I'm in.

On the subject of "From the Vault"...I was listening to and watching some Rolling Stones on this, Mick Jagger's 72th birthday.

The "From the Vault" Hampton, Virginia release may be the best "live" Stones I've ever seen or heard...and I've been a fan for a long, long time.
