Is anyone else here into painting them? I stopped almost seventeen years ago, and - since I had all my old brushes and paints - have just decided to get back into it. I'm painting a Citadel/Games Workshop one called 'The Changeling', which is a bit more challenging than I'd anticipated, but have been checking out a whole bunch of different stuff online. I just wondered if anyone else was into this stuff. Don't laugh too loudly at me - at least they're not Mighty Muggs.

No one, sorry. You've hit the bottom of the barrel of hobbies, below even table top RPG'ers. Even Mighty Muggs collectors get to make fun of you. But seriously, got any pics of figures you've painted? I tried painting some models (not that small!) over the years but always became frustrated.

I do. At some point this week I'll post some stuff I've painted.

Jeff and I did not conspire on this issue. Other times we have, but this was a solo mission. And no, I don't photograph anything. I wish I had taken pictures of the stuff I painted years ago, but I never thought of doing it. My latest effort is...not worthy of being photographed. If I do paint something that actually looks decent, once I've had more practice, I'll post it. I did buy two brushes from a company called 'Army Painter' - one is called the insane detail brush and the other (even smaller one) is called the psycho. The psycho is the tiniest brush I've ever seen.

Even with insane detail brushes I could never get any straight lines on my models. Ended up throwing them across the room in frustration, and then into the trash. I can (could? It's been years) paint on canvas without that problem, but never on plastic models.

It's different painting on surfaces that are at weird angles to each other, and to do so without accidentally getting paint on the wrong surface. I've definitely gone too small though - my eyes aren't what they once were, so I think I'll be branching out into some larger models next time. There are plenty of larger ones that average about 7 - 10cm, so I'll give one of those a try. I really like 28mm scale as they're often in one piece already, and I hate messing around gluing stuff together, etc, but they're just plain too little. Also, I hate trying to paint eyeballs on the damned things, so the next one will be some guy in a helmet or something.

You've done the eyes well - painting eyes is like hell for me. I hate doing it. The colour balance is also good, and you don't overdo the contrast. Hair is difficult to paint, but your werewolf guys look good. I'm almost finished my mini I'm painting. I may photograph him later and post the pics here. I've already ordered some Chaos warriors to paint, and my plan is to make them look as comic-bookish as possible.

Thank you. They're posted in the order I painted them. I've never painted miniatures before, so this was all a first go round. And yes, you absolutely have to post something now.

Do they have all the Presidents in 28mm scale, or just the most beloved ones? Judge, which game are those figures from? Are they D&D ones? I've not seen them before. I'm pretty familiar with most stuff from the early 80's onward, but don't recognise any of those ones. Here are some (not very good) pictures of the one I'm working on. It's about 70% finished. The pics are big, so I've 'spoilered' them, and you can click to enlarge 'em.
