Ah, it's great to see this with this cover. I can't wait. The original MGM release, with this cover, was one of my first albums ever. Of course, there were only 1/6 as many songs. I wonder if Bear Family will include the Gloria Stavers (16 Magazine) original liner notes.

I wonder if they re-mixed these tracks from the multi-tracks - I wouldn't be surprised. I never owned any of the Hermits albums in stereo, so I don't know what they sounded like.

That cover reminded me that this was the first LP I ever owned, and I dropped the record the first day I owned, causing it to crack along the edge. Still playable, but not the first track on each side. I've been waiting for those stereo mixes, and hopefully the version of "Leaning on the Lamppost" is the one I remember from the radio, not the one on the current best-of....
Sadly to say, for Bear Family that's cheap. While not dicey like Rhino Handmade (they don't reissue "limited editions" at 1/4 the price 5 years later like Rhino does), they're pricing is similar-worse.

My Bear Family rule of thumb -- if you can bear (no pun intended) to wait, Amazon third party sellers will have better prices than the Bear Family site itself. The risk here is that BF's titles tend to go out of print quickly.
(And somehow I never expected to see Geff in a Herman's Hermits thread.)

The Bear family releases that go OOP quickly are the big box sets.

Just writing to let you all know that this is an absolutely fantastic production--whether you're a Herman's Hermits fan or not. The sound quality far surpasses any compilation or reissue previously/currently on the market. The packaging is beautifully done. This is the definitive collection. Remixed in stereo, to perfection, by the great Ron Furmanek. If you want to hear this British Invasion band's recorded music at it's best, this is the ticket.
