Word has it that "Van Halen will release their 1st ever live album with David Lee Roth this spring. In addition to the live album, VH's 1st 6 albums will be getting the remastered treatment this spring as well."

Hope that this is true!

I never got all six remasters the last time, so I may fill in some gaps. Curious to see if there are bonus tracks - but not expecting them.

That cover art is very bootleggy.

They were recently (last year) remastered for a hi-res box. I suspect they'll just down sample those remasters for the cd's.

Those VH remasters from 2000 sound so damn good, if these are just straight remasters with no bonus features (at least give me liner notes and photos) then I will pass most likely.

As for the new live album, based on what I saw in Atlantic City in 2012, it won't be a fun listen. DLR's voice was not very good with that odd high-pitched yelping.

I'll have to decide on this one.

Definitely agree on the remasters, Pete.

Haven't seen VH live with Dave, but have seen some videos and the high-pitched yelping is a bit off putting.

The only reason to get it would be to see Eddie strumming his guitar.

I was hoping this would be a vintage show. I saw them in NH on this tour and thought they were terrible. I'm pretty sure we left early.

They're not young (Except Wolfgang) & Anthony is missed) & there's been a lot of drugs. I'm not real surprised.

No tracklisting, so does anyone know if their longtime concert staple, "I Forgot The Fucking Words, Man!" will be included?

Chris, it's no better now, as I saw Dave signing with the Foo Fighters on You Tube from recently and he sucked (he's also bald!).

Why not a vintage live album?

Well, being a VH nut I'm sure I'll buy this and the remasters because I have Jimboitis.

I think they sell a cream for that. :)

I would have preferred a vintage show too. These days Michael Starr (of Steel Panther) does DLR better than DLR himself.

I'll have to hear this before I part with any cash.

No 'Jamie's Cryin' ' (and a few personal favs - sure we all have some), but a great set list...bummer it is not a vintage show. I'll probably pass. And I am good on the remasters' front as well.

It would also be nice if they included their other longtime concert staple, "I'm Gonna F&&k Your Girlfriend."

Well, you went from "most likely" passing on the remasters to buying them.

You would never hear Jimbo say the former.

I'm most likely in for the live album, but like everyone else, if there are no bonus features on the remasters, I have the prior ones. I'll never understand this band at all and the way they treat their fans. Don't they realize that a vintage concert release would sell like mad? Or even a vintage compilation of live material would be great.

By the time they give us some vintage video or audio, we'll all be dead. :funny: Yeah, the VH brothers aren't very fan-friendly, imo. Heck, they treat Hagar and Anthony like they're lepers.
