Jellyfish: “Bellybutton” and “Spilt Milk” Deluxe Editions on the way. Omnivore Recordings in the US are preparing deluxe editions of the two Jellyfish albums for release in May.
Contrary to the information in the early Amazon pre-order listings, Bellybutton (1990) and Spilt Milk (1993) will both be two-CD sets and will offer an abundance of bonus material, largely made up of demos and live tracks. Expect around 80-90 minutes of extra audio for each reissue.
Shortly after it was originally issued, Bellybutton was re-released in the UK as a ‘special edition’ which added five live tracks (most of which had appeared on the UK CD singles) and Spilt Milk-era demos like Watching The Rain and Family Tree were commercially issued on The Ghost At Number One singles (further demos appeared on the New Mistake single). fanclub
Out-of-print ‘Fan Club’ set now sells for big money
The four-CD Fan Club box set (issued by Not Lame Recordings in 2002) is the most sought after Jellyfish collection, with an enormous amount of material (demos, live tracks) not found on any other release. Omnivore plundered this for 2012′s Live At Bogart’s so it is highly likely that Fan Club will be a ‘pick ‘n’ mix’ selection for the bonus tracks on the reissues.
Jellyfish originally featured Andy Sturmer (vocals/drums), Jason Falkner (guitars, bass, vocals) and Roger Manning (keyboards, vocals). Although Bellybutton lacked any big UK hits, all four singles did penetrate the top 75, with Baby’s Coming Back also reaching number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100. By the time of the more elaborate Spilt Milk, Falkner had departed and Tim Smith was brought in for bass duties. The band split in 1994.
Omnivore will release in these in North America and Canada, while Universal will issue the same sets in UK and Europe. These are slated for 6 May but this is likely to be approximate at this stage.

I hope it isn't just stuff from the Fan Club box set, but I'm sure it will be. It's great to see more people be able to get this stuff anyway. It's entirely too good for people not to hear it.

A friend of mine made a copy of the Fan club set for me, WOW. Amazing how much stuff these guys did that was top notch quality. Looking forward the added tracks added to these reissues. Actually I'm quite psyched!

Here's an update on these reissues from MusicTap. Finally we are getting closer!
I think it might be safe to mention this release by now (I think).
Jellyfish was a band from San Francisco that entertained with their Power Pop style. And although they were s short-lived band, they left behind a world of goodness over two excellent long-players that include Bellybutton (1990), and Spilt Milk from 1993. And if you have heard any of them, you probably enjoy them a lot.
On August 25, Omnivore Records will release 2CD remastered Deluxe Editions of Bellybutton, and Jellyfish Presents Spilt Milk.
Spilt Milk will contain on the first CD, the remastered original twelve tracks, tacking on six demo tracks. The second disc will delight with a collection of eleven more demo tracks, augmented with seven live tracks, and cherry-topped with “Think About Your Troubles”, and “Fan Club Message”.
The set will be released in digipak housing, and will include a booklet that features a booklet with photos, memorabilia, a new essay by Ken Sharp, and track-by-track commentaries of the original tracks by band members, Andy Sturmer, and Joseph Manning, Jr.
On Bellybutton, the first CD will feature the remastered original ten-track album, and completed with ten live performance tracks. The second disc will include a whopping 16 demo tracks. Like Spilt Milk, the digipak Deluxe Edition of Bellybutton will feature a booklet with photos, memorabilia, an essay by Ken Sharp, and track-by-track commentaries of the original album by Sturmer, and Manning.

Anybody got an update on these? Been on my shopping list for months, but I've never seen them for sale, and the Amazon links say "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available."

Well that sucks a lot. But with the TV Eyes reissue coming out, it seems like maybe they haven't quite given up on Jellyfish-related stuff and maybe these will come out eventually.

I'm worried that Omnivore may have lost the rights to the Jellyfish catalog--if you look up their releases on Amazon, Radio Jellyfish is out of stock, and Live at Bogarts + Stack-o-Tracks only have a few copies left, with no indication that more are on the way.
