Well, if in 2018, then she could be in Avengers Infinity War parts 1 & 2.

It's all part of Marvel phase 3, so I imagine she will be. I figure Infinity War is going to be ALL-IN.

So, what do you do with this movie?

I figure it's an alien spy on earth story, with Mar-Vell (posing as Dr. Walter Lawson).
He has some association with Carol Danvers, enough to show that she's a very capable-
on-her-own Major in the U.S. Air Force, and then Mar-Vell either is killed or sacrifices
himself to stop some Kree invasion. In the struggle, the Psyche-Magnetron explodes,
and fuses Carol's human DNA with Mar-vell's Kree genes.

Carol then slowly recovers from a coma, complete with powers.

You could tell that in 30-45 minutes, and then have Carol do something else, or you
could just play it ala Unbreakable, and make the origin story the whole movie.

I suspect that they'll want to showcase Carol with her powers. I have no idea of what
or who she's be fighting if not more Kree.

Maybe they'll do the origin in an earlier movie. No reason this has to be her first appearance.

It's possible that this movie will flop, but I think it will be decent even if it doesn't have the same box office as Iron Man. I think it's sad that Marvel is willing to produce this, but DC apparently can't do anything with Wonder Woman.

P.S. I will take this back if Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman turns out to be as interesting a supporting character in Batman v. Superman as Scarlett Johannson's Black Widow was in Iron Man 2 (which I didn't see) and Mavel's Avengers (which I did).

There was a discussion of this on Facebook that you don't have to have the first movie in a series of superhero films be an origin film. Maybe her origin will be Carol telling a brief story about how as a pilot she discovered a downed UFO in Nevada, and that's how she got her superpowers...

Except for the movie they will release a year before this one.

It's hilarious Marvel is beating DC's Captain Marvel movie into theaters by almost a year, with a movie actually called Captain Marvel. Nicely played.

Also, isn't DC's Captain Marvel no longer called Captain Marvel anymore? I'd say that's an even bigger triumph than getting a Captain Marvel movie in theatres ahead of DC.

It's pretty amazing what both parties have managed to do to one of America's most beloved and iconic comic book characters.

Let's forget about Wonder Woman for a moment. I think it's remarkable that a character like Carol Danvers' Ms. Marvel, who was originally created as a female counterpart to Captain Marvel has managed to sustain and grow her popularity over the years independently of the original character---despite several name changes---to the point where she ultimately SUPPLANTS the original character. Has anything like that ever happened elsewhere in mainstream comic book literature?
