Each year, my company, Kemin Industries, holds a fundraiser auction for Youth Emergency Shelter & Services (YESS) here in Des Moines, IA. If you would like to learn more about YESS, you can find out more information at their website
http://www.yessiowa.org. In short, they help keep kids safe and help families stay together through a variety of services.
This year, Kemin Industries employees will come together for a silent and live auction on Friday, December 12. I am reaching out today because Kemin is a company designing molecular innovations. We are a company of scientists. Basically, we are a company of nerds, and we love it. So I am reaching out to see if anyone is interested in supporting YESS by donating. Comic or sci fi collectibles, TPBs, art, statues, or anything of the like goes a long way and tend to receive bids far above value. Every single dollar that is raised by Kemin goes directly to the shelter to benefit children ages 0 to 17. The proceeds are used to purchase Christmas presents for each child who is at the shelter and away from their families during the holidays, and the remainder of the money is given directly to YESS to help with other needs throughout the year. Last year, our auction raised over $64,000 thanks to such donations.
It would be great to receive any donation that would assist in raising money for YESS.
