One of the new songs included on this compilation (all produced by Trevor Horn) was premiered on UK radio. Here is "This Is The Love":

Chant No 1 (I Don't Need This Pressure On) will always remind me of WLIR's golden period. Miss those days when music was exciting.

Music is still exciting...it's just that the exciting music isn't being played on one radio station like in the old days. I wouldn't have been a fan of Spandau Ballet had I heard them via the first two albums, but for some reason the True album just floored me (when I was 16) & I was able to go back & enjoy the earlier stuff. I'm very eager to hear these three new Trevor Horn-produced tracks. Tony Hadley's voice is still a thing of beauty.

Any mention of Spandau Ballet conjures up the 1990 movie The Krays, a crime drama starring Martin and Gary Kemp of the group, and based on the real-life exploits of the title brothers. The Krays were the inspiration for the Piranha brothers of Monty Python fame.

Yep, I saw The Krays when it came out, solely because of my love for Spandau Ballet. Great movie and nice job by the Kemp brothers.

Renny, in the US they're sort of a one-hit wonder to most people, depending on your definition of that term, but they had two other Top 40 hits with "Gold" and "Only When You Leave." In the UK they had more than a dozen Top 40 hits so they're massively popular there.

I'm a huge fan of these guys. Even though their music was almost the exact opposite of what I was listening to at the time, I loved them from the first time I heard them. You need to have a tolerance for '80s production and sax solos but there's plenty to enjoy throughout their catalog.
