It was a tight one between Red Son and the Ultimates for me, but ultimately Superman wins out.

I just ordered the bigass Wolverine by Millar Omnibus so I might hold off on a final vote until I have read it. I have read "Enemy of the State" and I enjoyed it immensely, but I'm not sure how many other Wolvie stories of his that I have read in passing.

I've decided that Millar is the best superhero comic book writer out there. I like love everything on that list above except for Old Man Logan, which didn't satisfy me on any level and Ultimate Fantastic Four which I will get to when it arrives again in a more complete package that the various trades that I have seen so far.

I'm leaning toward the Ultimates.

I have the Ultimates Omnibus and the Red Son prestige book, and no other Millar. I've read a lot of his stuff through the library, but nothing quite grabbed me as repeat reading material other than those two. For the simple fact that there's more of it, I'll go with Ultimates, but they are both very good.

Jeff, knowing you I highly recommend 1985. You won't be disappointed.

I'm not Millar's biggest fan,but I was really impressed by his run on Superman Adventures.A lot of those "Johnny DC" comics are underrated.

I saw on AmazWAN that DC is releasing those Batman Adventure in trades later this year. I've never read them, but I've heard good things and I will picking these up.

The second Ultimates series was pretty decent. They made a great movie out of Kick-Ass despite the book being underwhelming. Red Son was goodish. I'd say that I like Starlight better than anything he's done so far though we've got a long way to go.

Well, that's a recommendation I can't ignore. I can get it really cheap on Amazon, so I put it on my wish list. Next time I'm doing an order I'll add it on. Thanks!

Superman Adventures, followed by Red Son, followed (distantly) by Fantastic Four. All the others don't exist because I've never read them.

They're beautiful. In a better world, that book is still being published, with Bruce Timm taking turns with Mike Parobeck on the art.
