Disc 2 is the same show as a bootleg called "Whale & Fieldworkers Benefit" from 12/14/74. The boot appears to have the compete show.

I'm going to need to play the boot & see if the de will likely be an upgrade.

What concerns me is they're calling it a "broadcast", is this a "pre-FM (i.e. the true master tape) or a fan recording off the radio? If the master is gone a broadcast recording may be all they have to work with. Will report on the sound of the boot soon.

One bit of possible good news is Nash has been doing good producing work the last few years,; so maybe the WOTW will be a sonic upgrade over the last remaster. Maybe.

I've only played 2 songs of the boot so far, & I will add to this post if anything changes,but i doubt it will.

This is an acoustic 2 person show.

So far it is excellent, both musically & sound quality.

The boot is definitely a 1st gen pre broadcast tape.

In fact with today's TERRIBLE mastering on the majority of releases, I am going to wait for either reviews or a chance to hear the DE before replacing what I already have.

That would also be my advice to others: If you already own the boot, be cautious about buying this; most commercial cd's today do not sound as good as this boot. We're in audiophile territory here imo.

I've only played this on my pc previously, & it's likely been a few years, so I was quite surprised by the quality.

My intent is this will be my last post on this thread until the set comes out.

The concert 'leg is the best sounding 16/44 I have heard in ages.

If you are a CSN fan & don't own both discs already, buy the DE. If you are a fan, you need this concert!

I am going to wait to hear it; with today's mastering I suspect the 'leg will sound better than the official release; though I also need to play my "remastered" WOTW. I have no memory of it's sound quality.

Spin CDs sell a lot of the latter...

The 12/14/74 recording was engineered by Stephen Barncard btw [he produced David Crosby's If I Could Only Remember My Name album].

Now we know why we can count on the live disc to sound excellent.

If the mastering isn't fubarred. Can you tell I do not trust 99% of mastering engineers this decade?

I think I also made it pretty clear above that the master tape is SUPERB.
