He will be missed. I don't know how difficult the shooting of Groundhog Day was, nor what personal demons Bill Murray was battling at the time, but to me it seems like petty and arrogant that he refused to even TALK to Ramis in the quarter of century since that movie was made, and now it's too late.

One last thing. I don't believe Ramis ever won an Oscar, but the foundation of American film comedies rests more on the shoulders of talented men like Harold Ramis than Woody Allen.

Autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, eh?

69 years old, eh?

Well, sorry he died too soon - he was the true talent behind many laughs I've enjoyed and he will be missed.

They patched things up a decade or so ago. Murray (and his brother) had gone out of his way to visit Ramis since he had been ill. Both sides admitted that they didn't know what caused the fight.

Never mind his work in Ghostbusters, never mind his work in SCTV, never mind his work in Groundhog Day, Meatballs, Stripes....even The Office.

This is the guy who directed Caddyshack. On that claim alone rests film immortality.

It's physically impossible to make a lowbrow movie as funny as Caddyshack if you think FOR ONE SECOND "Gee, I could win an Oscar for this." So maybe it's only appropriate that he never won one.

God, I hope that's true. The idea of them never speaking to each other again for something as trivial as a film shoot is far more important than whether Ghostbusters 3 ever get made, and it probably won't---at least with the original cast. If that movie ever gets made, it will more likely be a reboot and maybe not a comedy.

Egon Spangler, of course.

And all the great, great writing ... Animal House, Meatballs, Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters

If there is an afterlife, it just got funnier.

And this one just got a little sadder.

Harold Ramis was the Hollywood person (and Ghostbuster) I related to the most; he once said that instead of being the class clown, he was the guy who wrote for the class clown. RIP, Moe Green.

Murray recently said that Groundhog Day was possibly his best movie.
