well another year has come and gone and the following albums have still NOT made to CD anywhere in the entire world (that i am aware of).

please feel free to correct anything i am in error about.

also feel free to add your own.

the usual suspects:

buckingham/nicks - s/t -

this was the most requested album to be put on CD as far back as 25 years ago, still not there :(

neil young:

time fades away - i know the HDCD promo is out there, the last one i saw was $600 on ebay
journey through the past

bob seger:

noah
back in '72
brand new morning

why not bob, seriously, why not?

steve miller:

rock love
recall the beginning: a journey form eden

almost had them, they were announced to be released early in'13....never came out, pushed back to '14

others:

the hombres - let it out - with huge hit "let it all hang out"

richard and the young lions - i don't even know if they had an album but the hit "open up your door" was pretty big around here

inside moves soundtrack - with he rare ambrosia song "outside"

crosby & nash - the first "best of" - the green one

stephen stills - still stills - a "best of" also

On the plus side, there are two coming into print next month that I'm VERY excited about: The Beatles US albums and Lucinda Williams.

Re Steve Miller, my amazon.co.uk order was simply cancelled after repeated delays. Did you read somewhere that there was still hope of seeing these? As far as I know, they were just cancelled. I keep reading interviews and talks about seeing a Buckingham/Nicks CD release. From what I can see, Nicks is all for it and Buckingham for whatever reason is preventing that from happening at this point. I have the LPs for all these so that will have to do for now.

I personally talked to Colin Blunstone this summer about his Rocket label releases coming out on CD, and he said he'd been offered the opportunity to release them digitally and declined so it looks like we'll never see those. We FINALLY got Flash Harry by Nilsson this year so there is always hope. The other one I'd like to see is the first solo album by Boz Scaggs that got a very limited European release on LP and that's it. That one will cost you a fortune even on vinyl.

Were there any major CD debuts at all last year? The only two I can think of were the two Patty Duke titles. My collection has shifted to where there are significantly more download-exclusive tracks, rather than vinyl-only material, that I'd like to have on CD. "Machina II" by the Smashing Pumpkins seemed to finally be in the pipeline for imminent release, but I doubt we'll ever see stuff such as much of the Wolfgang's Vault live material as anything other than download or streaming audio. Of course, the recent "bootleg" releases from Dylan and the Beatles open up a whole new category as well.

Therefore, my vinyl-to-CD wishlist is essentially what it was last year--the various Dylan b-sides not on the so-called "complete" boxed set, as well as "Concerts For The People Of Kampuchea" and "The Secret Policeman's Ball."

Classic albums that I still have never owned nor heard from start to finish: "Pet Sounds" and "Back In Black". Maybe this year. (I guess I'm thinking about this as I realize that one hole in my Who/Townshend collection is "Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert"--never owned it, never heard it. Why not? I have no idea.) Vintage albums I did finally get around to hearing in 2013: "Patty Duke Sings Songs From Valley Of The Dolls" and "Panorama" by the Cars.

Rubber Rodeo - "Heartbreak Highway"

Their first, "Scenic Views", had a brief CD release but has long been OOP. It would be nice for one of the indies to grab these from UMG and put them out together.

Looks like Rock Candy is EVENTUALLY going to release Danny Wilde - The Boyfriend so that takes care of a huge one for me. The other one I would LOVE to see on CD is Gerard McMann - Foreign Papers...maybe someday...

The Beatles - Live At The Hollywood Bowl

Also, no DVD/BRD of the film Let It Be with an accompanying soundtrack CD of the performances from the film (which are mostly NOT the performances on the LP that was issued).

I have a 1999 cd release of CalJam II on the Alchemy label. Through the years I'd always hoped there'd be legit full set dvd and/or cd release from some of the CJ2 performers, particularly Mahogany Rush and Heart.

I don't think "Urgh! A Music War" has ever been on CD. I've seen the video a couple of times but didn't get the 2-LP set until about a month ago. I'm guessing that licensing issues will keep this one in vaults forever.

Actually, an abbreviated version was reissued on CD in 1988. I have a copy:
