 1. Hoe Down 2. Bad Weather 3. What Am I Gonna Do 4. You Are the One 5. Railroad Days 6. From The Inside 7. Do You Feel It Too 8. Ol' Forgiver 9. What If I Should Say I Love You 10. Just For Me and You 11. C'mon (unreleased studio version) 12. A Man Like Me (unreleased studio version) Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1971 album from the pioneering Country Rock band. Country-rock pioneers Poco's third studio album introduced a more rock oriented approach to record making with the introduction of former Illinois Speed Press guitarist Paul Cotton into the band. Poco was never happy with producer Steve Cropper and never felt that he was the right choice for the project. A brand new mastering with the cooperation of Richie Furay has attempted to make the album sound as the band had originally intended. The addition of two previously unreleased bonus tracks that were done by the band with producer Richie Podolor and engineer Bill Cooper (Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night) was yet another attempt to become more commercial and appeal to rock audiences. All new essay by county-rock historian John Einarson features new interviews and insight with members of the band. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FQHXA9K/?tag=imwan-20

I am in.
I don't have this one and Iconoclassic do nice work.
Have they done any other Poco titles? And do they plan more?

I'm definitely in on this one.
This is the one Poco album I come back to the most and it can surely use some clarity in the mix...
Crossing my fingers....

I'm in too, and happy to see Iconoclassic is still releasing new titles. I've been very impressed with what they've done to date.

The originals were CBS (Furay period) & ABC (post-Furay).

No. They were on Atlantic for several albums in the 80's including Ghost Town which I love. They signed with RCA for one of their biggest albums Legacy in the late 80's. After that it was Indie labels. Also, their old albums were on Epic but distributed by CBS. And ABC was absorbed by MCA where their late 70's early 80's output was until Atlantic.

You're right about Legacy, I really like that one also. I believe CBS owned Epic, not just distributed, & you're right MCA bought ABC, than MCA was bought by Universal.

I'm not familiar with this record. I know their first three and the first Paul Cotton record I recall is "Good Feeling to Know," so this one slipped right past me. I remember a few songs after that, but Poco slowly slipped off my radar. I'll have to pick this up.
I also thought CBS owned Epic back then.

Yes, CBS owned and distributed Epic, Portrait and maybe others.
As for this album it's a good one, but the band were unhappy with some of it. Not sure why but I think it was due to Steve Cropper producing.
"Bad Weather", the title cut, "Just For Me And You", "Hoe Down", "Railroad Days", etc.-so many great cuts on this one.
It did pretty well reaching #52 but was no smash.
This remaster has Furay's involvement and that's a good thing. I hope this label does more Poco.
Does anyone have the BGO Poco remasters? I hate 2 fers but I've thought about those.

I've just got a few of the CBS originals. I've found BGO to be a bit of a crap shoot some are great, some suck.

The first 2 Fogelberg's are stunning
The Tubes Love Bomb isn't so good.

The Tubes Love Bomb isn't so good. just an educated guess, but i would be willing to go out a limb and say that dan fogelberg was a whole lot more meticulous in the studio to begin with than the tubes ever were. which i'm sure, has to affect everything about the recording.

Disagree. Tubes producers include Todd Rundgren, David Foster, & Al Kooper amongst others. I fully believe the varying quality issues with BGO are a result of mastering engineers & what tapes they are provided with for a given album. There is an MFSL for #1, & the 3 Iconoclassic as examples. I am a HUGE early Dan Fogelberg fan. Until the BGO Home Free/ Souvineer & the Japan Captured Angel, Phoenix & Twin Suns, none of those albums sounded particularly good. The DF box set sounds awful (brickwalled) as does the Japan SHM Innocent Age (also brickwalled). That said, DF/Tubes were the first random examples to come to mind on BGO; there are many more exampled I could have used.

I've never owned this Poco album, or even heard it before. I'm liking it a lot. Richie Furay's songs here are some of his best. Sound is pretty good, but I don't have anything to compare it to. It's not a real warm-sounding recording. It's fun to find a minor gem that I've never heard before. Poco is one of those bands that will never be one of my favorites, but at the same time, nearly everything they did was solid and enjoyable. This one certainly fits that description. BTW, Iconoclassic has also just released Laura Nyro's Smile ( see my thread).
