Nirvana's 'In Utero' to be re-released for 20th anniversary
Nirvana's 1993 album 'In Utero' will be re-released to mark its 20th anniversary on September 23.
A remastered version of the band's third and final studio album will feature 70 tracks including previously unreleased recordings and demos, B-sides and compilation tracks and live material featuring the band's final touring line-up of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. It will also include the Live And Loud show from Seattle's Pier 48 on December 13, 1993. A separate DVD release of that show will also be released on September 23.
The follow-up to 1991's seminal 'Nevermind', 'In Utero' was produced by Steve Albini over two weeks at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

Yep, something like that!
Actually, that's a tremendous example & graphic. Every waveform bashing member should be forced to spend the whopping 60 seconds & see what the rest of us are bitching about!

If Disc 1, as mentioned above, represents the single disc version, I'll probably pick it up--once upon I time a made a point of grabbing the UK version of "In Utero", which added something like twenty minutes of silence between the final song on the album and the "Gallons..." bonus track. A collectable CD, but one I don't play very often because reading a description of the bonus track is much more interesting than actually playing it.

Producer Steve Albini says critics of Nirvana's 'In Utero' album were 'parasites'
The producer of Nirvana's polarising 1993 LP 'In Utero' has branded those who criticised the album upon its release "parasites".
A remastered version of the iconic grunge band's third and final studio album is being released to mark its 20th anniversary on September 23. It will feature 70 tracks, including previously unreleased recordings and demos, B-sides and compilation tracks and live material featuring the band's final touring line-up of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear.
'In Utero' was significantly more raw and abrasive-sounding than its predecessor, 1991's 'Nevermind', and some fans and critics felt this was a wrong turn for the band - something which evidently hit a nerve with the album's producer Steve Albini.
"All of the people that were carping at the band from the outside about what a mistake they'd made with this record, that pretty accurately represented what they wanted to do with their music… all of those people are parasites," Albini said during a recent appearance on the Kreative Kontrol podcast.
"They weren't involved in making the record," Albini continued. "They want, somehow or another, to claim authorship of the creative output of these other people who are actually doing the heavy lifting for their career. I can't have any respect for somebody like that, who's not involved in the creative process but then decides that they wanna snipe at it from the outside and manipulate people into doing things to suit them. Fuck every one of those people."
Meanwhile, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has hailed 'In Utero' as a testament to the vision of his late bandmate Kurt Cobain. "Y'know, it's bittersweet, it's a heavy record," he said during an interview on XFM. "I'm really proud of it. It's really good and it is a testimony to the artistic vision of Kurt Cobain. You listen to that record and the intensity and that power and that is a tribute to Kurt's vision."
