Product Description
Taking their name from a Chuck Berry song, Jo Jo Gunne was formed in 1971 by Jay Ferguson and Mark Andes, respectively the lead vocalist and bass player of the legendary band Spirit, one of Los Angeles’ most influential bands.

Jo Jo Gunne hit immediately with the single “Run Run Run”, a Top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic, followed by “Shake That Fat”. The band went on to release four successful albums, all featuring a satisfying mix of 70s boogie and rock, as also practiced by the likes of the Doobie Brothers and the Allman Brothers during this period.

All four hard-to-find albums are gathered together here in one package, with annotation by Alan Robinson.

I know who these guys are but honestly have never heard them and came across this by accident.

Thought someone would like to know about it and it's really cheap as an import from Edsel UK. Looks like all 4 albums on 2 CDs. I can't stand cramming everything into one package, but at the price I'm sure any fans might be fine with it.

I have this IP and its a nice set with all four albums found one place at a very resonable price. Initially these came out on Rhino Handmade (which where I bought them). Found this set used which I use for the car. Jay Ferguson (formally of Spirit) takes the lead here and the boys rock on these albums. If you like good 70's rock this will satisfy.

These titles are now getting reissued by Wounded Bird in a format that looks very similar to the original Rhino Handmade releases.

i have found jay ferguson to be an acquired taste.

his solo albums are hit and miss as are these jo jo gunne albums. i think the first jo jo gunne is essential '70's rock and quite reminiscent of ferguson's band spirit, after that .....i guess it would be personal taste that would dictate.

i remember back in the day saying ferguson was a joe walsh disciple minus the rally good songs.

i do like ferguson's soundtrack work on 'NCIS LA' though, he does a nice job with that show's music.

Most like the first the best and I can see why, Renny's remark is spot on. For me, the second "Bite Down Hard" is my fave.
Played these albums a lot back in the day.
