Of these, the title tune became best known, thanks to the film of the Woodstock festival, but the album also boasts some of the Fish's finest moments on record such as Magoo, Thursday and Who Am I . This remastered 2 CD edition contains the original mono and stereo mixes of the album - the former having been unavailable since release in 1967 - as well as two bonus cuts, including an alternate mix of the title track. This is there best album by a mile. My only ? is going to be the mastering: loudness wars or quality?

I feel like i'm fixin to die is another great album.

I'm willing to risk what the mastering may sound like......I only have the original CD (this was within the first 30 CDs I ever bought in 1987)....and it doesn't sound very good.

Hope there's plans for Fixin To Die too.

If you didn't buy this yet......apparently it's good to hold off for a little.

Per Amazon customer reviews, they screwed up the mono CD.....Death Sound abruptly cuts off 10 seconds early. According to a comment on an Amazon UK review, this problem is going to be fixed. I can wait a month or so before getting it.

The sound is great, and the Vanguard CD is a remix.

I am so pathetic. I've owned that cd for at least 20 years & had no idea it was a remix (owned the LP before the cd).

I waited and finally ordered this from Amazon UK.......my copy didn't have the "Death Sound" mono problem........so, if you were still holding out for the problem to be corrected, it's safe to order now (from Amazon UK at least).

The 2-disc Remaster is scheduled for a September 30 release. If it's only half as good as "Electric Musc", it's worth buying and then some.

I still need to get Electric. it's a bit pricy for my budget these days.

A series of remasters (same artist, same label) is best kept all in one thread, so I've closed the other thread for the moment and given this one a more generalized title.

A friend let me hear the EMFTM&B set on my main system. For those who are sick of me bitching about bad remasters; this one is SUPERB!

Besides sounding awesome, I'm hearing at least partial (possibly completely) different takes on the mono version than on the stereo, which makes it even cooler.

Unless I'm having an acid flashback ( ), much of the vocals on the mono version are completely different takes then the stereo; similar on a portion of the lead guitar; & possible on the entire tracks.

An absolute MUST OWN for San Francisco 60's psych fans.

If I had heard this in 2013 when it came out, it would have been my reissue of the year.

All I can say is........ WOW!

I need this! Agree Geff, the mono version is the one to get!
