An absolutely incredible record from a great band..but the bonus disc isn't jumping out at me. For anyone who's been curious about them but never checked them out, this album is as good a place to start as any (it was my original introduction to their music).

Indeed! I'd be all over a beefed-up "Working With Fire and Steel."

I love all their records. "Working With Fire and Steel", to me, is probably their "best", but my personal fave is "What Price Paradise", mainly because it was my introduction to the band, and at the time I first bought it (on cassette, in 1987), it was probably the most "challenging" album in my collection.

Were there any relevant b-sides which could have been added to this package ??

It doesn't look like there were. So far as I know there were only two singles from the album - "Red Letter Day" and "Saint Saviour Square". It doesn't look like the single versions of the songs differed much (or at all) from the LP versions, and the b-sides (so far as I'm aware) were all catalog titles.

For "Red Letter Day", b-sides on the CD single included "Strength of Character" (from Flaunt the Imperfection) and "When the Piper Calls" (from Working with Fire and Steel), as well as the acoustic version of "Diary of a Hollow Horse" (which was the 7" single b-side and appears to be included on this reissue).

The b-side of "Saint Saviour Square" was Back Home which was Diary of a Hollow Horse album track. The maxi-single added the 12" mix which is included on the reissue. There appears to have been another CD single which included "No More Blue Horizons" (from the Difficult Shapes and Passive Rhythms album)

I am really glad this is an expanded deluxe edition, and not just another re-hashing of their "greatest hits". I reckon I own more China Crisis compilations than the number of actual albums they released
