DEVO released "Live 1981 Seattle" as a 2LP vinyl set last year as part of Record Store Day, and it sold out quickly. This year we offer it to you on CD in a beautiful digipack with 2 bonus tracks, plus a booklet featuring rare 1981/82 tour photos!

From Press Release: A rare recording of DEVO live in concert during their 1981 New Traditionalists tour, extracted from DEVO’s archives. This CD was cut from a cassette recording of DEVO’s show in Seattle, WA show in November ‘81. DEVO archivist Michael Pilmer (aka Devo-Obsesso), found the tape in a shoebox full of cassettes in Bob No 2’s home fifteen years ago, which he immediately transferred it to DAT. Afterward it promptly disappeared in the flotsam of DEVO history. Here resurrected it stands as a testament to Prince’s claim “DEVO, you guys are crazy!” Yes, crazy tight and relentless like Caucasian James Browns on marching powder.

Nice setlist, but I'm worried about the sound quality. "Cut from a cassette recording" scares me.

No sound samples on AmazWAN, but one reviewer said he'd like to hear more high end on the drums. I have this on the way, so we'll see.

FYI: The last 2 tracks are a Bonus from a Boston show and the sound quality drops. They are not listed on my first post, but they are tracks 19- Beautiful World and Track 20- Working In A Coal Mine. They sound like audies.

Were those tracks needed to make it like a complete show? Seems a bit odd to add them, especially if the quality is such a drop.

I know these songs were definitely in the setlist for this tour as well as "DEVO Corporate Anthem. I don't know for sure if they played them on this night. I remember "Working In A Coalmine" being played at the show I saw at the now demolished Westchester Theater in Tarrytown, NY.The quality is a drop but not unlistenable. It may be from an OTA FM Broadcast recording that circulates in trading circles.

Hey DanO, don't let it. I played it twice so far and I am very happy with it. And for only $10.00 it was a bargain.

After having listened to this, as Mr. Fuse said, the drop on the last couple tracks isn't bad, and it's not a bad quality recording at all.
