What's your favorite DC super-hero comic published in the '60s?

I think this one is mine:

I haven't read too many, but I guess it'd be Superman or Action Comics.

I'm thinking individual issues.

I haven't read many, but between Brave and the Bold, Superman, and Green Lantern, I'll go with Green Lantern.

Well, if we're picking a single issue --

I truly love his 60s, pop-art Superman work but the work from the 70s where they put an inker on his that tries to make it look more realistic (Murphy Anderson, maybe?) just leaves me cold.

Swan's 60s stuff are comics that look the way Superman comics should look.

It wasn't that; he was told to start drawing in a more "dynamic" style, and he cut loose. I like his style in the 60s but his 70s work is even better, to me. Most of the inkers in the 70s were crap and destroyed his pencils, so that might be why you don't like it as much. Murphy Anderson is considered the quintessential Swan inker, so I doubt it's him you don't care for.

I just don't like all the rendering on Swan's art -- I like the clean, flat look of the 60s stuff.

Swan's own inking in the '70s (and beyond) was beautiful:

They just didn't let him ink much in the comics.

Tough decision between Jimmy Olsen, Adventure Comics (when they had both Legion and Superboy stories) and the Teen Titans.

Today it's this:

People are doubting Swan in here. It's disturbing the Force. ...I mean, Source.

Oh, I'm not, at all, to be clear. I just liked his 70s stuff more.
