From hennemusic.com:

Dio’s 2000 concept album, “Magica,” is getting the deluxe reissue treatment.

Due June 25, the band’s eight studio album will be presented as a 2CD set: the first disc will feature the full original album, while disc 2 will contain "The Magica Story" (narrated by Ronnie James Dio) and several bonus tracks.

Produced by Ronnie, “Magica” marked the return of guitarist Craig Goldy to the Dio lineup, which also featured Jimmy Bain on bass, Simon Wright on drums, and Scott Warren on keyboards.

The reissue news will be good news for Dio fans, as the original 2000 CD version has been out of print for years, and has become increasingly hard to find.

I got rid of this years ago-it did nothing for me. When I wrote for Metal Rules Magazine I pretty much trashed the album but mentioned a few highlights. My biggest problem was the corny storyline and the wretched New Age "Magica Story" where Ronnie told us what Magica was all about to John Tesh sounding keyboards.

I can't imagine plunking down good money for this, but since I no longer have it, I'll keep it in mind. I'd much rather have Lock Up The Wolves getting the treatment which was the last of the classic years even though some do not like the album.

For me, Dream Evil was the end of the classic era, because after that, the Dio band either left or were fired and Ronnie had to start anew in 1990. I was never clear as to why everyone left in 1988-89, Pete? Do you have any info on that?

Chris:
All I read was eventually Ronnie decided the older sound had run its course, but someone (maybe Bain?) hung around into 1989 before he too left.

I also read there some money squabbles over credit and such, but I don't recall if that was true.

Sounds about right. It just seemed strange in 1990 that out of the blue there was an entire new band. It was the beginning of a Dio era that wasn't enough to keep me on board after Strange Highways.

I found Magica to be a pretty average album when stacked up against the rest of Dio's catalog.

I've always been read fond of the vocal performance on this one:
