Received my Rock Candy order today (Blue Murder & Head East).
The "Head East" title blew me away. I wore this out as an 2 LP set and now hearing this in one continous program (1 cd) remastered was unbelievable!
Everything was so clear and the vocals were perfectly mixed. I always knew these guys were great but man, when you hear them Live like this you know this band had the chops, the tunes and musicianship to make it happen.

How did I miss this...I've been waiting for this for years! This is an excellent live album and I'll be so happy to get it in my hands.
As for the first five albums, the only one that hasn't yet been on CD is "Get Yourself Up". The others have been available, even though the excellent "Gettin' Lucky/Head East" two-fer is out of print.

Your right WalterP, I have the Hip-O Select for years and it's a killer as well and another was a German import only. We do need a remastered catlg on this band because many titles are OOP or just plain basic issue like the first lp.
You are going to love the Live album, I played it twice already and this disc will be headlining this weekend when I pop a brewskie or two.

I've got that older import of "A Different Kind Of Crazy" as well as the widely available "Flat As A Pancake" and the Hip-O two-fer. While "Flat As A Pancake" has remained in print forever likely due to having "Never Been Any Reason" on it, you're right that everything else should definitely get a good reissue in the U.S. They would be an ideal candidate for reissue since the band (or what's left of it) is still an active touring enterprise. If nothing more, they could sell a ton of them at shows.
I still can't believe that I had missed this one. I'm glad that you posted about it and caught my attention. My delay in ordering means that according to Amazwan, I'm not going to have it for 2-3 weeks. (POUT!) Still, I'm thrilled that it's finally out. I've been listening to an old vinyl rip for a long time and while it's decent, I can imagine this will be a huge improvement. This is one of my favorite live albums of all time and while I like the band's studio stuff, I think this live stuff is so much better.

Thanks for your acknowledgement of the post, I am just so psyched to have it. I ordered mine from Rock Candy directly which they have this on sale and they also pay for shipping. Possible alternative for you.

Rick...how long did it take you to receive the order from overseas? Did they remove the VAT?

Thanks Rick...I may have to cancel with Amazwan and order direct. I'm very eager for this one.

As the guy who started this thread says (me!) I always tell people to use Rock Candy's site on ebay. Or, wait a bit and places like importcds and marsmusic and others sell them at $14-$17 on Amazon and you won't have to deal with overseas shipping. This label is the best reissue specialty label out there and everything is first rate and distributed by Universal.

Well I took Rick's advice, cancelled my Amazwan order and ordered it directly from Rock Candy. (Along with the Buck Dharma title.) I'm hoping that they'll ship quickly, because I can't wait for this one!

I hope you get these soon WalterP. I know you are a big fan of "Head East" and you will not be disappointed. By the way I have the Buck Dharma title and you wil be very happy with it as well. The mastering supercedes my Japanese pressing.
IP is right, this label has it together and glad to see they issues titles that no one else is going after.

Thanks Rick...I appreciate your advice. The only thing I didn't like about Rock Candy is that their website is kind of clunky and not very easy to navigate. Looking at the titles that they're doing though, you're right, they're definitely putting out titles that you don't often see elsewhere. I have seen some of their titles before on other labels, but I like a lot of what they offer.

One of my all time favorites too. I pre-ordered from Amazwan about a month ago and was patiently waiting to get it this past week. Thursday I got the obligatory message that it would be delayed 2-3 weeks. I wasn't very happy about that. This morning I saw that Amazwan had taken the money out of my account for it and checked their website and it is scheduled to be delivered Tuesday along with the Ambrosia - Life Beyond LA. Yeah!!

So happy to say that my copy of "Head East Live" arrived today, directly from Rock Candy, along with the Buck Dharma album. All in all, it's a nice package. The essay is nice and long, even though it was supposedly written in December 2013. (Oops!) So far, I've only play it on my PC speakers, but already I can tell that the sound is much more spacious than the compressed vinyl rip that I'd been listening to up until now. I look forward to playing this on my stereo system and in the car.

Glad you got them as I know you were really wanting the "Head East" especially. When you hear this on the main system it will blow you away. "Rock Candy" really opened this one up. You are at the concert with this one.
